"The work of Grskovic tends toward the point of ridiculous. He takes viewers beyond irony to confront them with the improbability of representation, forcing them to consider the fundamental assumptions underlying utopian ideals.

By problematizing representation and making its process transparent, Grskovic sets up a dialogue between what we consider to be real and our propensity to idealize that reality."

artbyjessica asked: what kind of glue do you use for your collages? and any preservation techniques?

Great question :) Fortunately, I was able to put myself through University by being a picture framer. There I observed how important using only acid free materials was. I would see amazing pieces of art come in to be reframed after they had already been destroyed by off gassing paper matting and no UV protection. Its tough to think about what you’ve just made 20 years in the future, but if you don’t it will just disapear. I’ve seen images almost completely erased by the sun.

I only use acid free material, linen tape and UV glass. It’s more expensive but its worth it.

I think I saw in a studio shot of yours that you use “yes” paste. So far that’s my favorite to work with too. It easily dissolves with water if you want to lift an image. Since your work doesn’t look like it needs glass, using a UV coated spray would work, but I’m sure you’re probably already on it :)

No secrets, just quality materials.
